Inside Australia's Biggest Cyber Event + Who Holds Your Data + Backing the Person Who Clicked
Show notes
Bora has just been to CyberCon, Australia's biggest cyber event, with around five thousand people, more than a hundred and sixty vendors and plenty of free socks. The most talked about topics were social engineering, deepfakes and data sovereignty, including what happens to your data and your family photos when a big tech account gets locked. Ant shares what CISOs told him at the Richmond Cybersecurity Forum in London and on CruiseCon, a cybersecurity conference at sea, including culture capital, why a security policy might need a marketing expert, and the robot hoover in your living room. And they ask how well organisations look after the person who got socially engineered.
This bonus episode of Click Happens has Bora back in the passenger seat with no plan and no running order. We get into why social engineering was the hottest topic at CyberCon, what the CLOUD Act and data sovereignty mean for where your data lives, why a locked Google account can cost a parent their kids' photos, what CISOs said about language, culture and resilience, and why the person who clicked deserves support.
